Peripheral countries like China, Japan, and Taiwan were committed to participate in the 2010 Northeast Asia Conference on Kinesiology.
Dr. Jung Sok Oak, President of KACEP, (Dankook University) and Dr. Kwang Hoi Kim, vice chairman of the organizing committee (Inha University), visited prestigious universities in both Japan (January 3-6, 2010) and China (January 6-9, 2010) to introduce the KACEP, the Korean Academy of Kinesiology, and the KACEP Institute for Education Evaluation and request their participation in the 2010 Northeast Asia Conference of Kinesiology.
The Organizing committee, in order to establish the concept of kinesiology(ê¡ÔÑùÊ) and licensure of kinesiologists (ê¡ÔÑÞÔ), agreed to meet and collaborate on these issue, particularly because the term "kinesis (ê¡ÔÑ)" is widely used in East Asia, cross-culturally between Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan. It was decided that the 2010 Northeastern Asia Conference of Kinesiology (NACK) shall be held n May, 2010.
Dr. oak suggested that in order to create the system of certification for exercise and sport professionals, scholars from China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea using the term "kinesis (ê¡ÔÑ)" must discuss and collaborate these issues together. all countries' scholars responses to Dr. Oak¡®s opinion were very positive.
Dr. Wang (Chair of Graduate School, Beijing Sport University) and Dr. Xiong (Professor, Beijing University of Physical Education) Dr. Zhang (President/ Dean of International Recruitment & Training, Shenyang University of Sport), Dr. Chen (Vice President, Shanghai Institute of Physical Education), Dr. Jidong (international director, Shanghai Institute of Physical Education), Dr. Yi (Research Dean/ Director of International Education, Wuhan Institute of Physical Education) will be dispatched to the 2010 NACK from China. Scholars from departments of Physical education, like the department of physical education at Dalian University of Technology, are also to participate in this conference.
Dr. Takahahi (Research dean, Nippon Sport Science University), Dr. Nakazato (Nippon Sport Science University), Dr. Murauka (Chair/graduate dean, Waseda University), Dr, Nakamura (Professor, Waseda University), Dr. Ae (Dean of Institute of Health and Sport Science, University of Tsukuba) and Dr. Okade (Professor of Institute of Health and Sport Science, University of Tsukuba) will be dispatched to the 2010 NACK from Japan. Japan Institute of Sports Science is to cooperate with KACEP considering participating in the Korean Chinese Japanese Sport science seminar by the Korea Institutes of Sport Science.
Dr. Takahahi (Research Dean, Nippon Sport Science University) suggested the creation of a Council Cooperation in Northeastern for (tentatively named) exercise and sports professional training systems. Hence, Dr. Oak, president of KACEP, decided to hold the Northeastern Asia exercise and sports professional training system special symposium and discuss a plan for organizing Council Cooperation in Northeast for (tentatively named) exercise and sports professional training systems with peripheral countries.
Subsequently, Dr. Oak, president of KACEP, met Dr. Ae (Dean of Institute of Health and Sport Science, University of Tsukuba) and Dr. Okade (Professor, University of Tsukuba) and discussed this issue again. Dr. Ae pointed out that exercise professionals also have job/career issue in Japan. He would actively cooperate with the symposium and Council and promised a japanese delegation for symposium presentations and organizing committee members for the council after the japanese university physical education professional council meeting.
Dr. Oak, the president of KACEP, decided to discuss and announce the symposium and council for cooperation in this issue to both China and Taiwan.
And the symposium's two titles will be the following from each county:
- Current status and issues about university curriculum related exercise in each country and the improvement program.
- Current status and issues about the certification system related exercise in each country and the improvement program.
After the Japan Visit, Dr. Jung Sok Oak, the President of KACEP made a request to China and Taiwan to send their representatives for the Symposium on National Credentialing for Allied Exercise/Fitness/Health Professionals in Northeast Asia in order to share and gather appropriate representative information from each country.
During the visit to China, Dr. Oak had met Professor Tian Ye, Deputy Director of China's Sport Science Society and President of the China Institute of Sport Science, and asked him to send their representatives for the symposium. Additionally, Dr. Oak and Dr. Kwanghoi Kim, Professor at Inha University, met Dr. Mun-HakWon, Chairman of the Department of Physical Education at Dalian University of Technology, and asked his help in sharing and promoting the 2010 NACK at other colleagues and universities.
Dr. Oak had visited Taiwan after the China visit. During his visit in Taiwan, Dr. Oak met Dr. Shao-Hshi Chang, Dean and Professor in the College of Sport and Recreation at National Taiwan Normal University and also President of the National Society of Physical Education in the Republic of China. Dr. Oak explained to Dr. Chang that the theme and purpose of the 2010 NACK and requested a representative to be in attendance.
Also, Dr. Oak and Dr. Kihong Kim, Professor at Yongin University, met and explained the theme and purposes of the 2010 NACK to the following scholars and university administrators in Taiwan: Dr. Hshin-Fa Lin, President of National Taipei University of Education; Dr. Hung-Shin Chou, President of National Taiwan Sport University; Dr. Jeng Fang-Fann, Vice President of Taipei Physical Education; and Dr. Jasson Chiang, Chairperson of Physical Education and Sport Affairs. During the Taiwan visit, Dr. Inglish Ying-Che Huang, Professor in the Department of Physical Education at the National Taipei University of Education made all the necessary arrangements and was a tremendous help in facilitating a more effective visit to promote the 2010 NACK in Taiwan.
