Description:

A post-doctoral fellowship is available in the Weight Management and Wellness Division at Children¡¯s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. The successful applicant will have responsibilities in ongoing NIH-funded clinical trials to examine the effects of exercise and diet on risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in obese adolescents. Specific expertise will be developed in body composition, insulin sensitivity, exercise training and energy expenditure. By working on ongoing and developing projects, the post-doctoral fellow will have the prospect to utilize existing data for scientific presentations and publication purposes. The fellow will work with multidisciplinary team members comprised of pediatric endocrinologists, dietitians, nurses, and exercise physiologists.

 

A background in clinical research, exercise physiology and obesity research is required. The position is available immediately for a minimum of 1-3 years.
