Dear Colleagues in Our Global Professional Community:

 Since 1999, we, KACEP (Korean Association of Certified Exercise Professionals), have hosted annual meetings to promote quality in exercise science and support the rights of exercise professionals both in Korea and throughout the world. KACEP is announcing its 9th Annual Meeting in Conjunction with the International Conference on Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise, which will be held June 2l and 22, 2008 at Keimyung University in Daegu, Korea.

 KACEP intends to define the academic speciality of exercise science during the conference. Moreover, we aim to explore possibilities for exercise professionals such as where to perform their roles, for what kinds of areas, and how to perform to their potential. Also, various scholars from relevant fields including exercise science, education and medical science will gather for intensive cross-disciplinary academic discussions. It will be a meaningful time for exercise professionals to add breadth and depth to their academic areas of specialization through sharing field experiences and research in relevant areas of study.

 Dear Members, Educators and Students:

 Currently, we have not been able to avoid some academic confusion. Also, we have not been able to move out of a stalemate in the promotional project for the licensing system of physical instructors. These realities are due to the fact that the academic integrity of exercise science has not been clearly defined. Also, it is not possible for a few professionals to resolve these issues. They demand intensive discussions among exercise professionals and scholars. As such, we sincerely hope you will do your part to participate in these discussions.

 We also welcome the participation of scholars and professionals from our global professional community; especially during the symposium when professionals who live in the same linguistic cultural origin of Chinese will be featured as a future asset in seeking clarification for issues such as the conceptualization of exercise science in the field and upgrading the academic field and professional quality of exercise science.

 We are confident that the KACEP 9th Annual Meeting, 2008 in Conjunction with the International Conference on Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise will create the most valuable and meaningful professional experience for you.
